Coronavirus Update: One fatality, 188 new cases in Sindh
According to official reports, as many as 13 COVID-19 laboratories at Karachi did not perform any test during the last 24 hours, ending at 8 am on September 6 while the maximum 6,298 samples were handled by LUMHS laboratory at Hyderabad, with a positivity rate of only one percent.
Karachi’s Indus Hospital laboratory examined 829 samples and found 11 percent of them positive, followed by KU-PCMD laboratory (491; three percent positive).
Meanwhile, the percentage of women among the overall coronavirus infected people (130,483) reached to 30% on September 6 in Sindh, which has tested an overall 1,055,050 samples, with a positivity rate of 12.36%.
The districts of Sindh which reported new infection during the last 24 hours were: six districts of Karachi (115), Thatta (12), Badin (9), Khairpur (8), Hyderabad (4), Tando Mohammad Khan (4), Kashmore (3), Tando Allahyar (3), Kambar Shahdadkot (2), Larkana (2), Sanghar (2) and Sukkur (2). Ghotki, Jacobabad, Jamshoro, Matiari, Shaheed Benazirabad and Shikarpur districts registered one new case each. Sindh still has 2,035 active patients of COVID-19 against country’s overall 6,542 active cases.
