He said that 120,876 patients of the 127,691 were cured, while the daily new infection rate was around four percent.
The total of COVID-19 fatalities across the province rose to 2,357, according to him.
Official reports revealed that five patients, who died on August 18, three of them expired at Karachi and one each at Dadu and Hyderabad which included one death at home; another three patients died at home on August 20.
A total of 30 patients have lost their lives at home in the country during the month of August, majority of whom belonged to Sindh, according to data.
According to the Chief Minister’s statement, Karachi had 172 (55%) new COVID-19 cases on August 21, followed by Thatta (27), Badin (13), Hyderabad (13), Sujawal (11), Khairpur (8), Shaheed Benazirabad (6), Shikarpur (5), Tando Mohammad Khan (4), Mirpurkhas (3), Jamshoro (3), Tando Allahyar (3), Umerkot (3), Ghotki (2), Jacobabad (2), Kambar Shahdadkot (2), Larkana (2), Sukkur (2), Dadu (1), Matiari (1) and Naushero Feroze (1). Sindh added 51% of the new infections and 70% of the new fatalities to overall national tallies of daily cases and deaths on August 21–PNFS
